AI Watch
IVERSON WATCH!Philadelphia 76er's star, and former league MVP, Allen Iverson has asked to be traded. He's pissed about his team sucking. And who could blame him? Billy King is a complete moron at running this team. THIS IS BIG NEWS!!! I'm like glued to ESPN.com right now. I checked the site before i went to bed last night, and when I got up this morning. Obviously, I have a problem. The only answer: THE ANSWER.
The Question? Where is Iverson going?
Several teams have lined up to get a deal done:
The Warriors are reported as the front-runners, with the Celtics a close second. The Kings have also expressed interest.
A deal was almost in place with the Bobcats, but that fell apart once word got out that AI would not be happy in Charlotte.
The Timberwolves might also be an interesting option, because people think AI and Kevin Garnett would complement eachother well.....however they do not have the peices to get it done. The Sixers really want Randy Foye though.
If he were to go to the Warriors, they would almost have to include Monta Ellis. The Celtics would have to include Al Jefferson in any deal, and the Kings have offered Mike Bibby and Kenny Thomas for AI.
Denver also wants a crack at AI, offering Nene, and JR Smith.
The Sixers were hoping to get this deal done quickly. They have lost 9 straight, not that that has anything to do with anything. The fact is that they suck. And they suck worse without AI. They will continue to suck. They may get the number 1 pick next year, and try to get Greg Oden...hopefully he won't like college too much and decide to stay there.
I think he will end up with the Celtics, and then the Celtics will win the Atlantic Division.
FRANK - Iverson is so tough...he's not afraid of your shark.

This is the O's Year
It's been a while since I posted, but I've heard the grumblings. The O's have overpaid for all these relievers. Like a man trying to cross-breed a dog and a parrot, how foolish!
Well, hold on a second. I don 't think either of those things are foolish. A talking, flying dog would rock. And the O's had to do this. You know that if they didn't sign those guys all the talk would be "The O's never do what it takes to get solid players". We've heard that every year. And now they pay big money to the best free agent relievers to bolster their biggest weakness and we hear "Those O's are wasting money. They should have spent it elsewhere."
Well the truth is, there is no elsewhere. All those big bats you wanted, we offered them big money too, and they turned us down. Now we're looking for them in a trade. Meanwhile our bullpen with Jamie Walker, Danys Baez, Chad Bradford, Scott Williamson, and let's not forget Chris Ray is looking pretty dynamite. Do you think a dynamite bullpen might help a young pitching staff which is supposed to be our future? You better believe it. Do you think spending big money on these guys shows the market and other players that the O's are serious about competing? Most definitiously!
No doubt about it. They spent a ton, but it was a must do! They had the money to burn anyway. They still do. I think it's a great move. We'll have to see how it plays out.
