Welcome to Earth, Lurch

Gilbert Arenas, streetname "Zero Hero" for all you Miami police officers, welcomed his new teammate, Oleksiy Pecherov (I will never remember how to spell that name)(or pronounce it) at yesterday's first practice for the Wizard's Vegas Summer League squad.

Pecherov measured out to 7' tall at the practice. Coach Eddie Jordan says that Pecherov is picking up the Princeton Offense pretty well. "You can see that he has basketball skills," said Jordan, which is good...because basketball skills are CRUCIAL to the game of basketball. I'm surprised that the Wizards didn't get this information from his scouting report, or his pre-draft workout for the team, but hey...if he's got basketball skills, he's already better than Brendan Haywood.

In other Wizards news....

Jared Jeffries, who is a restricted free agent, has started courting other teams, and it seems like the teams that are interested include...the 76ers, Knicks, Bulls, Spurs and Rockets.

The Wizards have also been mentioned to be one of the teams pursuing a trade with Milwaukee for One-time All-Star Center Jamal Magloire.

In other NBA news....

Ben Wallace to the Bulls...Now, it seems that the Bulls may be trying to pry Kevin Garnett from Minnesota...offering a package of Tyrus Thomas, Tyson Chandler, and Luol Deng. Check this starting 5...Hinrich, Gordon, Noicinoninci, KG, and the Fro. Yikes...

Hornets also would like to get Chandler. They already signed Bobby Jackson and Peja. Check this NO/OK....Paul, Peja, Mason, D West, and Chandler, with B Jax, and their two rooks coming off the bench. Definitely looks like a playoff team.

The Clips resigned Sam Cassell, who will be pulling an Avery Johnson in 2 years. and signed Tim Thomas, who is going to be returning to his "I thought this guy was supposed to be good"-mode.
