Midseason Report: Bucks Still #1
I wrote this summer about Ohio State's brutal schedule in September, with away games at Iowa and Texas with a home game against Penn St. in between. And they made it through unscathed, standing a perfect 6-0. They even dodged the Garrett Wolfe bullet and "only" gave up 170 yards to a guy that's barely taller than Frank. And I mean that as a compliment.
So its the middle of the season, and thankfully the injuries are relatively low in number and severity (too bad Michigan can't say the same thing). What does the second half of the season hold? An away game at Michigan St. (never to be taken lightly, I don't care what they've done this season) is kind of like an away game at Georgia Tech. It will be an ugly slugfest for sure. Other remaining games on the Big Ten schedule are of less interest: Northwestern, Indiana, Illinois...yawn.
That is, until the date with destiny in Columbus, Ohio. And by destiny I mean the Team Up North. There's a good chance both teams will be undefeated coming into that game, meaning I would definitely have to make a road trip and tailgate outside the 'Shoe. I don't want to look to far ahead and give predictions on that game yet, but man-oh-man does it look good.
So that's it on the Buckeye front for now, lets just hope to escape East Lansing with a win and our starters intact, and then get ready for the showdown in November.
(And no, I'm not going to comment on OSU's demolition of Bowling Green last week, other than to say someone bought me a beer because I was the only person wearing a BG shirt in the entire sports bar. Let's just say I was glad I had already ordered a tall instead of a small)

Eric,
Thanks for the post. I thought your next post would be giving Jim Leyland massive amounts of man love, for sure. O well, next time.
I'm glad a team you like is really good. It must be nice.
ahhh, it is nice. I'm gonna go buy a sweatervest now.
and I'm definitely rooting for the Tigers...Leyland is a local guy. What's not to like about a guy who gets so mad he rips his clothes off? Chain-smokes between innings? Grizzly mustache? The list goes on and on...
