O's Update

Before I go into my O's offseason news, I wanted to point out one of those weird things that happened to me this week. It's pretty remarkable, if you ask me.

So I've really been into this new show called "Heroes" that comes on NBC. It's about people who have super-powers. I was watching this past week's episode which featured the character "Chandra Suresh" who is this geneticist who is killed in like the first episode. I recognized him. It was kind of like Deja Vu. Then I placed him...

Earlier in his career, the actor known as Erick Avari, who plays Chandra Suresh on "Heroes", was in a little movie called "Encino Man" where he played a conveniece store clerk. There was this one scene when Pauly Shore is leaning under the slurpee machine and he says something like "I just wanted to weeze a little ju-ooce" followed by one of Avari's most defining lines of his entire career: "No WEEZING THE JA-OOCE!" Classic moment in American Cimena. It will always stay with me.

...And on to the O's. They've made two moves thus far this offseason; trading RP Chris Britton to the Yankees for SP Jaret Wright. Then they overpaid for more relief help, agreeing to terms to Jamie Walker, RP from the Tigers.

Since you guys don't get ESPN's Insider...I'm going to update you on everything I've heard as it related to O's and free agents. Carlos Lee (who's fat), Mark Mulder (who's coming off of surgery), Mike Stanton, Alfonso Soriano (but not at the price he's being listed at), Justin Speier, Adam Eaton, Luis Gonzalez (he's 40!), & Danys Baez. Gee, it looks like they might be trying to pad their bullpen, which was the 2nd worst in the majors last year! Interesting moves by the Duquette!

They may be looking to make some trades too. Anyway, the O's will still suck next year. It's nice to see them trying though.
